Objectives

The primary objective of this RFI is to gather market information on automated testing, performance testing, and software quality assurance tools to support the RAF's modernization efforts. Specifically, it aims to understand available solutions that can enhance quality controls across the software development lifecycle, support DevOps and continuous testing practices, improve test planning and execution, and enable proactive validation of application performance, scalability, resilience, and stability before deployment. The information will assist RAF in refining requirements, informing sourcing options, supporting budgeting, and guiding future procurement processes.

Scope

The scope of this RFI includes:

• Market research on respondent capabilities, solution offerings, delivery approaches, support models, and licensing options.
• Assessment of solutions for automated testing, performance testing, test management, defect management, reporting, analytics, and broader software quality assurance tooling.
• Evaluation of compatibility with enterprise platforms such as SAP, Guidewire, Microsoft Azure, AWS, APIs, Java, web, desktop, and mobile applications.
• Consideration of cloud-based, secure, scalable, and technology-agnostic solutions supporting SAP-related testing and other enterprise systems.
• Provision of information on supply, configuration, implementation, integration, enablement, support, maintenance, and continuous improvement over a 36-month period.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements encompass solutions that are enterprise-ready, secure, scalable, and capable of supporting:

• Automation testing across multiple platforms including mobile and cross-browser testing.
• Defect management with capabilities for logging, tracking, severity ratings, notifications, and workflow integration.
• Support for scripting languages, low-code/no-code automation, parameterized and data-driven testing, and integration with external data sources.
• Performance testing features such as simulating user journeys, transaction volumes, workloads, and peak scenarios, with integration to CI/CD pipelines and monitoring tools.
• Reporting and analytics with dashboards, logs, trend analysis, defect insights, and export options.
• AI-assisted and intelligent testing capabilities, including self-healing and risk-based testing.
• Security, compliance, and resilience features such as MFA/SSO, audit logging, data masking, and adherence to standards like POPIA.
• Integration with enterprise systems like Azure DevOps, Jira, Bitbucket, and other relevant platforms.

Skills Requirements

Respondents should demonstrate:

• Proven experience in providing automated testing, performance testing, and software quality assurance solutions within regulated or enterprise environments such as financial services or insurance sectors.
• Capability to deliver solutions that support modern DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and integration with enterprise tools.
• Technical expertise in scripting, automation frameworks, and integration with various platforms and technologies.
• Knowledge of security and compliance standards relevant to public sector and enterprise environments.
• Ability to provide implementation, enablement, support, and ongoing maintenance services.
• Experience in delivering cloud-based, scalable, and secure testing solutions, with a focus on enterprise readiness and future scalability.
