Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider to operate and carry out repairs on the boilers at Fort Glamorgan Prison for a period of five (5) months. The goal is to ensure the reliable and efficient functioning of the prison's boiler systems through proper operations and necessary repairs.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Operation and maintenance of boilers at Fort Glamorgan Prison for five (5) months.
• Carrying out repairs and repairs-related services as required to ensure continuous boiler functionality.
• Provision of skilled personnel, including boiler operators, electricians, fitters, and millwrights, with appropriate qualifications.
• Ensuring compliance with safety and technical standards during operation and repairs.
• Coordination with the Department of Public Works & Infrastructure for site access and operational requirements.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify:

• Having a CIDB contractor grading designation of 3 ME/3 ME or higher.
• Minimum of six (6) key staff members, including at least one electrician with wireman's license, boiler operators with trade test certificates, and assistants.
• Full pricing of the Bill of Quantities or Pricing Schedule, with clear markup percentages.
• Provision of proof of qualifications and experience for key personnel.
• Adherence to safety, health, and environmental standards as per the Department’s specifications.
• Compliance with all relevant legislation, including safety and security protocols.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required for personnel include:

• Trade test certificates for boiler fitters or millwrights.
• Trade certificates for boiler operators.
• Wireman's license for electricians.
• Proven experience in boiler operation, maintenance, and repair.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and compliance with relevant health and safety legislation.
