Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to develop and facilitate comprehensive clinical skills training in child and adolescent health care for healthcare professionals and workers across the Western Cape Department of Health. This includes creating training materials, delivering webinar-based sessions, and conducting face-to-face training to enhance skills, knowledge, and capacity aligned with current policies and best practices.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Development of training content and materials covering a broad range of child and adolescent health topics.
• Facilitation of webinar-based training courses accessible to diverse healthcare categories.
• Implementation of face-to-face training interventions across various districts and rural areas.
• Provision of support materials, assessments, and ongoing professional development aligned with CPD requirements.
• Reporting, quality assurance, and compliance with relevant standards and accreditation.

The training will target healthcare professionals and support staff across six regions and multiple institutions, including rural and metropolitan settings, over a contract period of 60 months.

Technical Requirements

• Development of comprehensive, CPD-aligned training content including handouts, videos, assessments, and guidelines.
• Delivery of a suite of webinar courses, ranging from basic to advanced levels, with a capacity to reach up to 8,000 participants annually.
• Facilitation of face-to-face training sessions, ranging from 10 to 150 courses per annum, for up to 8,000 participants.
• Provision of logistical arrangements, including venues, travel, and certification.
• Use of online platforms for content sharing and delivery, with secure and accessible open formats.
• Inclusion of multimedia elements such as animations, videos, and graphics to enhance engagement.
• Compliance with accreditation standards, including CPD points where applicable.
• Regular reporting, quality assurance, and evaluation processes.

Skills Requirements

• Experience in developing and delivering child and adolescent health training content and programs (minimum 3 years).
• Proven ability to create CPD-aligned educational materials and assessments.
• Expertise in conducting webinar-based training sessions and managing virtual learning environments.
• Capability to facilitate in-person training, including logistical planning and execution in diverse settings.
• Skilled in graphic design, multimedia production, and instructional design.
• Knowledge of current health policies, guidelines, and evidence-based practices in child and adolescent health.
• Ability to work across multiple regions and adapt training to varying literacy and experience levels.
• Strong reporting, quality assurance, and compliance skills.
• Team of qualified trainers and content developers with relevant expertise and experience.
