Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a service provider to conduct maintenance work at Delareyville Post Office. The specific maintenance tasks include replacing broken windows, repairing water leaks and replacing water pipes, repairing roof trusses (as prescribed by an engineer or roof specialist with relevant qualifications), replacing hollow bricks in front of windows, and refitting or replacing suspended ceilings.

Scope

The scope of work involves:

• Carrying out maintenance activities at Delareyville Post Office located at 43 Government Street, Delareyville 2770.
• Conducting on-site assessments and delivering a functional office with all applicable Certificates of Compliance.
• Performing repairs in accordance with legislative standards, including building codes and safety regulations.
• Ensuring all work is completed to the required quality standards, using first-class materials, and meeting South African Bureau of Standards (SANS) specifications.

Technical Requirements

• All repairs must comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993, and local municipal by-laws.
• The roof repairs must be overseen by a qualified engineer or roof specialist with structural qualifications and an ITC certificate.
• The contractor must be CIDB registered for category 1 GB with active status and provide the CRS number.
• The contractor must be registered and in good standing with the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA).
• All materials used must meet SANS standards or international standards where no SANS specifications exist, and should preferably be locally manufactured.
• Work must include obtaining all necessary legal and safety certificates, including Certificates of Compliance and structural certificates for roof repairs.

Skills Requirements

• Qualified engineers or roof specialists with structural qualifications and ITC certification for roof repairs.
• Skilled plumbers capable of replacing copper pipes, repairing water leaks, and installing new water taps and washers.
• Carpenters or bricklayers for hollow brick replacement and ceiling repairs.
• Experienced general maintenance personnel familiar with building standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance processes.
• Contractors must demonstrate CIDB registration and relevant experience in similar maintenance projects.
• Ability to prepare and submit all required documentation, including Certificates of Compliance, BBBEE certificates, and tax compliance certificates.
