Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a capable contractor to construct and upgrade the bulk water supply infrastructure at Ngqungqushe Campus of Ingwe TVET College. Scope

The scope of work includes:

  • Excavation, shoring, and backfilling of pipe trenches

  • Supply, laying, and connection of pipelines (50-110mm diameter, approximately 3000m)
  • Installation of pumping systems, instrumentation, controls, and automation
  • Equipping and development of groundwater boreholes
  • Installation of air valves, scour valves, isolation valves, and chambers
  • Barricading earthworks and trenches
  • Landscaping and site rehabilitation

The project involves civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control works, and must be completed within six (6) months from commencement.

Technical Requirements

  • Construction of integrated water supply systems including municipal, groundwater, and rainwater sources
  • Supply and installation of pipelines (50-110mm diameter)
  • Provision of storage tanks and reservoirs with structural supports
  • Installation of pumping and control systems with automation
  • Development and equipping of groundwater boreholes
  • Compliance with relevant legislation including Occupational Health and Safety Act, Environmental Acts, and Construction Regulations
  • Development of Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems
  • Appointment of qualified site personnel, including a full-time Site Agent with at least NQF Level 6 qualification in Civil Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience
  • Implementation of safety measures, including a full-time Construction Health and Safety Officer registered with SACPCMP

  • CIDB grading of 5CE or higher (or capable of registering at this level)
