Objectives

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Provision of cooking training for three different teams (Marion, Gough, Antarctica) on specified dates in 2026.
• Conducting 2-day cooking training sessions at the trainer’s venue in Cape Town.
• Ensuring facilities are based in Cape Town with fully equipped kitchens.
• Including all delivery costs, applicable taxes, and compliance with mandatory requirements.
• Adherence to delivery timelines and submission of valid quotations on company letterhead.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the tender are as follows:

• Training must be conducted in fully equipped kitchens located in Cape Town or surrounding areas.
• Training sessions are scheduled for specific dates, with potential for date changes.
• Service providers must include details of delivery timelines and quotation expiry dates (validity of 90 days from RFQ closing date).
• All costs, including delivery, taxes (VAT, PAYE, income tax, UIF, skills development levies), must be included in the bid price.
• Facilities must be suitable for adult training and meet the department’s standards.
• Brands or pictures on specifications are for illustration only; equivalent brands are acceptable.
• Goods/services should not be delivered before official purchase orders are issued.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required from service providers include:

• Proven experience in conducting adult cooking training sessions.
• Ability to provide fully equipped kitchens suitable for training purposes.
• Capability to deliver training on specified dates with adherence to schedules.
• Compliance with mandatory registration and documentation requirements, including:
• Company registration and BBB-EE certificates for specific goals (ownership by Black People, Women, or People with Disabilities).
• Tax compliance certificates and registration reports (CSD, MAAA number).
• Ability to provide proof of compliance and relevant documentation to claim preference points.
• Capacity to handle all logistical aspects of training delivery, including setup, facilitation, and cleanup.
