Objectives

The primary objective of the tender is to design, supply, install, and commission additional lighting around the Lethabo Power Station sewage maturation pond. The lighting system must be suitable for night-time illumination, ensuring safety and operational efficiency around the ponds and associated equipment.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Surveying the area around the maturation pond to develop an approved lighting design.
• Providing a solar lighting system capable of illuminating the area throughout the night, with specific uniformity and glare criteria.
• Supply and installation of the approved lighting system in accordance with electrical and civil standards.
• Provision of as-built drawings, certificates of compliance, and relevant civil, electrical, and mechanical documentation.
• Ensuring the lighting units are independent, automatically switch on/off, maintenance-free, and account for overhead lines.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Design of a solar lighting system with adequate coverage and uniformity (minimum lux levels, uniformity ratios, glare control).
• Heat maps and software simulations to verify lighting performance.
• Life expectancy of the system and compliance with relevant standards.
• Provision of civil, electrical, and mechanical details, including as-built drawings and certificates of compliance.
• Independent lighting units with automatic operation and minimal maintenance.

The contractor must demonstrate:
