The primary objective of this tender is to upgrade the fire protection pumping system at Tutuka Power Station to meet the worst-case fire water demand of 18,876.85 liters per minute at 991.66 kPa. The upgrade aims to enhance system reliability, ensure compliance with local fire safety codes (NFPA, SANS/ASIB), and address the increased fire water demand following the turbine underfloor fire protection system installation. The design will include two main electrical pumps, two diesel backup pumps, and two jockey pumps, all supporting the existing water supply infrastructure, to mitigate risks of property damage and personnel injury/death in the event of an uncontrollable fire.
