Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to establish an enabling agreement for the disposal of scrap mixed e-waste, including non-functional computer equipment, on behalf of Eskom from the KZN Operating Unit and Majuba Power Station. The agreement will be activated "as and when" required over a contract period of three (3) years from the date of contract signature.

Scope

The scope involves the collection, handling, and disposal of scrap mixed e-waste, including non-functional computer equipment, on behalf of Eskom at designated sites within the specified regions. The agreement is intended to facilitate the efficient and compliant disposal of e-waste as required over the contract duration, with activities initiated "as and when" needed.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of secure collection and transportation of scrap e-waste, including non-functional computer equipment.
• Compliance with applicable legislation, safety, health, environment, and quality standards (SHEQ).
• Proper labelling and cataloguing of materials delivered to Eskom, with the potential requirement to provide cataloguing information per item post-contract award.
• Provision of proof of safety, health, environment, and quality management systems in place at the time of tender submission.
• Adherence to Eskom’s labelling specifications and security requirements for performance security, including indicating at least two financial institutions for security provision.
• Participation in site visits or clarification meetings as stipulated, and compliance with all specified documentation and registration requirements.

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Registration and compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory standards, including CIDB registration where applicable.
• Demonstrated capability to handle and dispose of electronic waste in a safe, environmentally compliant manner.
• Experience in cataloguing and labelling materials according to Eskom’s specifications.
• Financial stability and capacity to provide security for performance, with at least two financial institutions identified.
• Provision of proof of SHEQ systems, policies, and capabilities.
• Ability to meet the Contract Skills Development Goals (CSDG) and Contract Participation Goals (CPG) if applicable.
• Understanding of and compliance with Eskom’s procurement, safety, and environmental policies.
