Objectives

The primary objectives of the tender are to appoint a service provider to deliver consulting services for the following SAP-related upgrades and redesigns:

• SAP EHP Upgrade (from EHP5 to EHP8)
• Redesign of the Slug Number system
• SAP S/4HANA Conversion (including industry-specific solutions)
• Redesign of the Customer Portal

The overall goal is to ensure seamless migration, system enhancement, and improved customer engagement over a period of 24 months, aligning with SAP Activate methodology and best practices.

Scope

The scope encompasses four main components:

1. SAP EHP Upgrade: Upgrading SAP ECC6.0 from EHP5 to EHP8 across a 4-tier landscape, including system assessment, infrastructure preparation, custom code adjustments, testing, and documentation.
2. Redesign of Slug Number: Redefining master data ranges for Customer and Week-Cycle tables to support at least 15 years of operation, including gathering business requirements, configuration, testing, and post-implementation support.
3. SAP S/4HANA Conversion: Migrating from ECC6.0 to SAP S/4HANA industry solution, covering system assessment, infrastructure setup, custom code adaptation, data cleansing, testing, training, change management, cutover planning, hypercare, and documentation.
4. Customer Portal Redesign: Developing a new SAP Fiori-based portal for customer transactions, including requirements gathering, design, deployment, testing, training, and post-go-live support.

Exclusions include SAP infrastructure provisioning, software licensing, and upgrades of SAP MII and SAP PCO applications.

Technical Requirements

• Proven experience with SAP ECC6.0 to S/4HANA migration, including at least 3 medium-sized organizations, with references demonstrating successful projects involving SAP IS-OIL and NetWeaver.
• Certified SAP Build Partner with expertise in Oil & Gas industry solutions and located in South Africa.
• Skilled resources including SAP Functional Specialists (e.g., MM, IS-OIL), Project Managers with SAP Activate certification, and technical experts with experience in SAP S/4HANA, ABAP, Webservices, RFC, IDOC, and integration.
• Comprehensive project plan aligned with SAP Activate, covering all phases from assessment to hypercare, with clear milestones and critical paths.
• Change management strategy to support user adoption, including training, communication, and organizational change interventions.
• Robust backup, recovery, cutover, and hypercare plans to ensure minimal disruption and system stability.
• Adherence to SAP and Transnet ICT security standards, including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and compliance with ISO, COBIT, NIST frameworks.
• Implementation of audit recommendations, security controls, and data protection measures compliant with POPIA.

Skills Requirements

• Experience in SAP ECC6.0 to S/4HANA migration, with documented successful projects involving industry-specific solutions.
• Expertise in SAP Industry Solution for Oil & Gas (IS-OIL), SAP MII, SAP PCO, and SAP NetWeaver Portal.
• Certified SAP professionals, including SAP Activate Project Managers, Functional Consultants (MM, IS-OIL), and Technical Specialists (ABAP, Webservices, RFC, Fiori).
• Strong project management skills with experience in SAP Activate methodology, including detailed planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
• Proficiency in change management, training delivery, and organizational readiness for SAP transformations.
• Knowledge of SAP security standards, data privacy laws (POPIA), and system integration best practices.
• Ability to develop comprehensive documentation, testing strategies, and post-implementation support plans.
