Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to provide maintenance, repair, re-installation, testing, and commissioning of a reclamation floating line at the Port of Richards Bay. The work aims to refurbish and ensure the operational integrity of the floating line to support port reclamation activities, with a focus on safety, environmental compliance, and minimal disruption to port operations.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Removal and lifting of existing floating line equipment.
• Transportation and site handling of components.
• Servicing and changing of components such as the "Tomato Ball" swivel and sink hoses.
• Reinstallation of refurbished or new components, including seals, flanges, and bolts.
• Testing, commissioning, and ensuring the operational readiness of the floating line.
• Compliance with safety, health, environmental, and port regulations throughout the works.
• Provision of all necessary plant, tools, equipment, and personnel for execution.
• Environmental management, waste disposal, and safety procedures as per specifications.

Technical Requirements

• Adherence to Employer’s Works Information, specifications, and standards including SANS 1200 series.
• Design of temporary works such as site establishment, access routes, and safety barriers.
• Use of new or refurbished plant and materials compliant with standards.
• Inspection, testing, and certification of equipment prior to use.
• Implementation of environmental management plans, waste management, and pollution control measures.
• Development and submission of detailed programmes, schedules, and method statements for approval.
• Provision of quality assurance, safety, and health management plans.
• Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations, including PPE, fire safety, and site access controls.
• Environmental and safety monitoring, incident reporting, and adherence to environmental specifications.
