Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a service provider to render a comprehensive printing and rendering service to all institutions under the control of the Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness for a period of three (3) years. The service includes printing, branding, supply of various printed materials, promotional items, signage, banners, and related services as specified in the bid documentation.

Scope

The scope encompasses the provision of a wide range of printing and related services to multiple institutions, including:

• Printing of books, posters, flyers, brochures, and other printed materials in various sizes, colors, and finishes.
• Supply of promotional items such as mugs, water bottles, pens, USB drives, and other branded merchandise.
• Production of signage, banners, flags, and display stands.
• Design, branding, and supply of custom-sized books, folders, and corporate stationery.
• Provision of finishing, binding, lamination, and packaging services.
• Delivery to multiple locations including hospitals, clinics, and departmental offices within the Western Cape.

The services are to be delivered over a three-year period, with specific requirements for samples, technical specifications, and quality standards as detailed in the bid documents.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include, but are not limited to:

• Provision of samples demonstrating printing quality and adherence to specifications prior to job execution.
• Use of specified paper types, sizes, and finishes (e.g., gloss, matte, lamination).
• Production of posters with specified thicknesses (e.g., 6mm, 10mm correx), laminated or full-color printing.
• Supply of folded materials, pamphlets, and flyers with specified fold types and GSM weights.
• Production of corporate folders, signage, banners, and promotional items with specified branding and finishing.
• Adherence to specified delivery schedules, packaging, and handling requirements.
• Compliance with quality standards and ability to meet minimum quantity requirements.

Skills and Capabilities Requirements

The bidder must demonstrate:

• Experience in large-scale printing and branding projects, with relevant references.
• Technical capability to produce a variety of printed materials as specified.
• Ability to provide samples of work that meet the specifications and quality standards.
• Capacity to handle multiple orders simultaneously across various locations.
• Knowledge of and compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards relevant to printing and manufacturing.
• Efficient logistics and delivery capabilities to ensure timely distribution across all designated sites.
• Qualified personnel with skills in graphic design, print production, and quality control.

Summary

The successful bidder will be required to provide a comprehensive printing and branding service, meeting technical specifications, quality standards, and delivery timelines, supported by relevant experience and skilled personnel to ensure seamless service delivery over the three-year contract period.
