The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver heat treatment services for castings made of AAR M201 Grade E steel to Transnet Engineering Foundry Business. The services are to be provided on an 'as and when' required basis over a period of five (5) years, ensuring that the heat-treated castings meet specified mechanical and hardness properties, with proper documentation and post-purchase support.
The scope includes the heat treatment of cast components of various sizes, ranging from 5 kg to 300 kg. The bidder must design an optimal heat treatment cycle tailored to the properties specified, and provide test certificates demonstrating compliance with AAR M201 Grade E steel standards. The process involves austenitizing, quenching, and tempering, with all batches accompanied by testing keel blocks for certification. The foundry is responsible for transportation, and the supplier must support post-delivery quality assurance and rectification if necessary.
