Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit proposals for the provision and supply of epoxy coating services and materials for a period of three years. The aim is to ensure the application of high-quality epoxy coatings on various equipment and components at Foskor Mining division, enhancing wear resistance and durability in abrasive slurry and pulp environments.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Application and supply of epoxy coatings on specified equipment and components.
• Removal of existing equipment and surface preparation in accordance with SANS and OEM standards.
• Transport, handling, storage, and application of epoxy materials.
• Provision of all necessary materials, equipment, labor, and transportation.
• Surface preparation including dressing sharp edges, abrasive grit blasting, and priming.
• Application of specified epoxy brands (e.g., Nordwear5, Supaline fibro-wear) with testing and approval prior to use.
• Completion of epoxy coating within agreed timeframes, with onsite curing times less than 60 minutes.
• Inspection, quality assurance, and return of components post-application.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Use of approved epoxy brands tested according to Foskor procedures.
• Epoxy coatings must exhibit excellent wear, impact, chemical, ozone, water, oil, and hydrocarbon resistance.
• Surface preparation must comply with SANS 10064, including grit blasting to remove contaminants and rust.
• Application of coatings must ensure smooth, continuous, and unbroken surfaces with proper overlap and seam finishing.
• Epoxy coatings must cure in less than 60 minutes onsite.
• All sharp edges dressed to a minimum radius of 3mm; welds ground flush; surfaces cleaned of oil prior to blasting.
• Use of ceramic chips for internal diameters and application integrity.
• Complete inspection and testing, including thickness and curing time assessments.

Skills and Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Experience and competence in epoxy coating application within abrasive slurry environments.
• Provision of qualified personnel, including surface preparation, coating application, quality inspection, and safety officers.
• Proof of relevant certifications such as epoxy application, quality inspection, safety, and tiling.
• Capability to provide all necessary equipment, tools, and workshop facilities.
• Ability to manage surface preparation, coating application, inspection, and quality assurance processes.
• Adherence to health, safety, environmental, and legislative requirements, including PPE provision and site-specific inductions.
• Implementation of quality assurance plans, including testing, documentation, and reporting.
• Proven track record with references and past project experience in similar applications.
