Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply and delivery of mill rods (grinding media) for Foskor's mining division over a period of three years. Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of various sizes of mill rods, including:

• 80mm x 3,357m rods with 400Cr specification and +50mm tolerance
• 60mm x 3,357m rods with 400Cr specification and +50mm tolerance
• 80mm x 3,980m rods with 400Cr specification and +50mm tolerance
• 100mm x 4,280m rods with 400Cr specification and +50mm tolerance

Deliveries are to be made to Foskor's Phalaborwa warehouse in Limpopo, South Africa, with transportation rates quoted separately. The contract includes provisions for potential extension beyond the initial three-year period, subject to performance and pricing considerations.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the mill rods include:

• Material composition: 400Cr with 2% Cr content
• Size tolerances: +50mm / -0mm
• Hardness: HB 370-450
• Chemical analysis and accreditation: Must submit a chemical analysis report from an accredited laboratory (SANAS or equivalent) with confirmation of accreditation.
• Quality assurance: Suppliers must provide a quality management system, including ISO 9001 certification, and demonstrate manufacturing capabilities through relevant documentation and testing results.
• Delivery and packaging: Compliant with standards, with proper packaging to prevent damage during transit and storage.
• Compliance with applicable standards such as SANS and relevant legislation.

The supplier must also provide test rods for quality verification and ensure that the delivered rods meet the specified chemical and physical standards.
