Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a professional electrical engineering service provider to undertake repairs and refurbishment works at the Griekwastad Magistrate Court. The services aim to ensure the proper design, documentation, procurement, construction supervision, and close-out of electrical systems in accordance with departmental standards, legislation, and best practices, including targeted procurement and environmental considerations.

Scope

The scope encompasses a comprehensive range of electrical engineering services across multiple project stages, including:

• Preliminary investigations, feasibility studies, and assessments
• Concept design and viability analysis
• Final detailed design, drawings, and specifications
• Procurement documentation and assistance in tendering
• Construction supervision, site inspections, and quality assurance
• Project close-out, as-built documentation, and operational manuals
• Additional services such as environmental impact assessments, targeted procurement, and construction monitoring

The services are to be delivered in accordance with the Department of Public Works & Infrastructure's standards, legislation, and the specific project requirements, including compliance with security, environmental, and occupational health and safety regulations.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of professional electrical engineering services by registered professionals (as per the Engineering Profession Act, 2000)
• Preparation of design documentation, drawings, and specifications compliant with relevant standards and regulations
• Implementation of environmentally sustainable and energy-efficient design solutions
• Coordination with other project disciplines and service providers
• Adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and safety regulations
• Provision of construction monitoring and site supervision, including full-time or part-time site staff as specified
• Compliance with targeted procurement goals and reporting requirements
• Provision of professional indemnity insurance and security clearance where applicable
• Preparation of project reports, progress updates, and final documentation in line with departmental procedures
