Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a panel of contractors (CIDB Grade 1GB to 9GB) for the construction of buildings and structures within the Alfred Duma Local Municipality. The contract aims to facilitate the timely and efficient delivery of construction projects over a period of three years, ensuring quality, compliance, and adherence to specified standards.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Construction of various buildings and structures as detailed in the project specifications.
• Execution of works over a three-year period, with completion within the stipulated timeframes.
• Provision of related services such as site supervision, on-site assembly, commissioning, and maintenance support as required.
• Involvement in projects that may include general civil works, structural works, and other related construction activities.

The scope is not necessarily limited to the approximate quantities provided and may include additional works as directed by the municipality.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Demonstrated experience in similar construction projects, supported by appointment letters, reference letters, or completion certificates.
• Qualified professional staff with more than five years’ experience in civil or built environment disciplines, with CVs and certified qualifications to be provided.
• Proof of plant ownership or lease agreements for essential construction equipment such as tipper trucks, excavators, graders, rollers, and water trucks, with log books as proof.
• Compliance with functionality and evaluation criteria, including project experience, professional staff, and plant ownership.
• Adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards as per municipal and national regulations.

Skills Requirements

The skills and competencies required from bidders include:

• Proven track record in executing similar construction projects.
• Skilled civil and built environment professionals with relevant experience and qualifications.
• Capability to manage construction plant and equipment effectively.
• Ability to coordinate site activities, ensure safety, and meet project deadlines.
