Objectives

The primary objectives of this tender are to refurbish a 5 km tarred road by replacing the existing tar surface with interlocking paving bricks and to refurbish stormwater inlets along the route. The project aims to improve road infrastructure, ensure proper stormwater management, and enhance safety and accessibility for users.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Relocation and protection of existing services and utilities.
• Excavation, clearing, and disposal of materials for roadworks, drainage, and related structures.
• Construction of new drainage systems, including culverts, open drains, and associated structures.
• Installation of interlocking paving bricks for the road surface, including preparation, laying, and finishing.
• Construction of kerbing, channeling, and other concrete structures.
• Provision and installation of road signs, markings, and safety devices.
• Construction of temporary deviations and traffic control facilities.
• Provision of ancillary services such as site offices, laboratories, and safety equipment.
• Testing, quality assurance, and project management activities.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify:

• Use of approved materials, including specific types of interlocking paving blocks, concrete, and reinforcement.
• Construction of drainage systems with specified dimensions, materials, and surface finishes.
• Installation of kerbing, channeling, and linings with specified concrete classes and finishes.
• Provision of safety signage, road markings, and traffic control devices compliant with standards.
