Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to lease 2 lithium battery operated electric forklifts to the market for a duration of 3 years, ensuring the provision of reliable, efficient, and compliant equipment to meet the needs of the Msunduzi Municipality and its stakeholders.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of 2 lithium battery operated electric forklifts with specified technical features.
• Lease period of 3 years from the date of contract award.
• Delivery of forklifts to the specified address at 1 Market Road, Mkondeni, Pietermaritzburg, within 2 weeks of award.
• Entering into a Service Level Agreement (SLA) prior to commencement.
• Maintenance, emergency repairs, and replacement of forklifts if unrepairable or requiring workshop servicing.
• Compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and safety requirements.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the forklifts include:

• Model: FSV47, 4.70m mast lift height, 3-stage container entry mast.
• Load capacity: 1500kg at 500mm load centre.
• Tyres: Solid.
• Features: Side shift, standard load scale, warning lights, adjustable seat and seat belt, automatic 90-degree levelling, full road ordinance lighting, multifunction display, rear grip with hooter, mirrors, lithium-ion battery, charger, reverse buzzer, strobe light.
• Additional items: Mirrors, lithium-ion battery, charger included.

Skills and Qualifications Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate:

• Compliance with all relevant South African legislation, including Occupational Health and Safety Act, COID Act, Income Tax Act, VAT Act, Engineering Profession Act, and other applicable laws.
• Experience in supplying or leasing similar equipment, with proof of past performance and supply chain management practices.
• Registration with the Central Supplier Database (CSD) and valid tax clearance status.
• Provision of necessary certifications such as CIPC registration, tax compliance, and relevant standards (SANS/SABS).
• Ability to provide emergency repairs within specified turnaround times and maintain equipment according to prescribed standards.
• Capacity to enter into a Service Level Agreement and deliver the equipment within the contractual timeframe.
• Demonstrated understanding of procurement policies, preference points system, and compliance with BEE/SMME initiatives.
