Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to establish a contract for the maintenance of fire emergency equipment at Medupi Power Station over a period of 60 months. The aim is to ensure the continuous operational readiness and compliance of fire safety systems through systematic maintenance activities.

Scope

The scope encompasses the maintenance of fire emergency equipment, which may include activities such as inspection, servicing, testing, and certification of fire safety systems. The scope may also involve related activities like procurement of spare parts, calibration of equipment, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Technical Requirements

• Adherence to industry standards, codes, and specifications related to fire safety equipment maintenance.
• Implementation of quality control and quality assurance processes to verify the functionality and safety of fire emergency systems.
• Preparation and submission of method statements, inspection reports, and technical documentation.
• Regular testing, calibration, and certification of fire safety devices in accordance with manufacturer and regulatory requirements.
• Proper handling, storage, and preservation of fire safety equipment to prevent deterioration.
• Effective management of records, data books, and maintenance manuals.

Skills Requirements

• Qualified personnel with expertise in fire safety systems, including inspection, testing, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of relevant standards such as SANS 466:2005 and ISO 10005:2005.
• Experience in managing supplier and sub-supplier performance, including monitoring and evaluation.
• Ability to prepare detailed method statements, inspection plans, and quality control documentation.
• Competence in handling technical records, data books, and maintenance manuals.
• Skills in risk management, non-conformance management, and corrective action processes.
• Effective communication skills for coordination with Eskom and other stakeholders.
