Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure maintenance services for the coal analysers (NITA IV System) at Kendal Power Station over a period of 5 years. The aim is to ensure continuous, reliable operation and optimal performance of the analysers through effective maintenance and support.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of maintenance services for the coal analysers (NITA IV System) at Kendal Power Station.
• Management of all contractual, technical, and operational aspects related to the maintenance of the analysers.
• Compliance with Eskom’s contractual and safety requirements, including SHEQ standards.
• Coordination with Eskom’s existing systems and adherence to local content and employment equity policies.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that:

• The tenderer must demonstrate compliance with ISO 9001 quality management standards.
• The tenderer must provide evidence of a developed, implemented, and maintained QMS aligned with ISO 9001:2015.
• Environmental management compliance in line with ISO 14001:2015, including environmental policies and waste management plans.
• Provision of safety and SHEQ documentation, including risk assessments, safety policies signed by the CEO, and adherence to Eskom SHE specifications.
• Provision of relevant registration and licensing documentation (e.g., ECSA/SACPCMP/CVs/permits/licenses).
• Compliance with Eskom’s contractual, legal, and local content policies, including local procurement and employment creation targets.
• Adherence to Eskom’s requirements for contract price adjustments, foreign exchange management, and import/export procedures.

Skills and Competency Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in maintenance of coal analysers or similar instrumentation systems.
• Capability to provide qualified personnel with SHEQ competencies, including safety officers and technical specialists.
• Certification and registration with relevant professional bodies (e.g., ECSA, SACPCMP) where applicable.
• Implementation of a Quality Management System (ISO 9001) and Environmental Management System (ISO 14001).
• Ability to comply with Eskom’s SHEQ standards, including safety policies signed by senior management.
• Demonstrated capacity to meet local content, employment equity, and transformation goals.
• Financial stability and compliance with tax and legal requirements, including CSD registration and SARS compliance.
• Experience in managing contractual and technical documentation, including risk assessments, safety plans, and quality control plans.
