Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to invite qualified contractors to undertake the geotechnical investigation for the Valley Platform at Majuba Power Station as part of the Phase 2 – Continuous Ash Disposal Facility Project. The investigation aims to gather essential geotechnical data to support the design and construction of the ash disposal infrastructure.

Scope

The scope includes conducting a comprehensive geotechnical investigation of the Valley Platform area, including site assessments, sampling, testing, and reporting. The investigation will support the design of the ash disposal facility, ensuring stability, safety, and compliance with relevant standards. The scope also involves providing detailed method statements, project team organization, and relevant experience documentation.

Technical Requirements

• Preparation of detailed method statements for geotechnical investigations.
• Provision of geotechnical design and investigation reports, including sampling, testing, and analysis.
• Demonstration of relevant experience in geotechnical investigations for similar infrastructure projects, particularly ash disposal facilities.
• Submission of a comprehensive project organogram covering all key personnel involved.
• Key personnel must have a minimum of 10 years relevant experience, with professional registration (e.g., Pr. Eng or equivalent).
• Provision of CVs and proof of registration for all key staff.
• Adherence to safety, environmental, and quality management standards, including ISO 9001:2015 compliance.
• Completion of all required annexures, including integrity, local content, and contractual declarations.

Skills Requirements

• Proven expertise in geotechnical investigations, particularly for ash disposal or similar large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Experience in designing and managing geotechnical investigations, including sampling, testing, and reporting.
• Qualified and registered professional engineers with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience.
• Capability to develop detailed method statements and project execution plans.
• Strong project management skills, including organization of personnel and resources.
• Knowledge of safety, health, environmental, and quality standards applicable to geotechnical investigations.
• Ability to demonstrate previous successful project delivery within budget and schedule constraints.
