Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure training services for Occupational Health and Safety Representatives, specifically for members of the DFFE National Occupational Health and Safety Committee. The training aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of participants in occupational health and safety practices, workplace inspections, and related management structures.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Provision of Occupational Health and Safety Representative Training for 25 DFFE National Occupational Health and Safety Committee Members.
• Training to be based on Unit Standard 259622 at NQF Level 2, accredited by a SETA or QCTO.
• Training duration: Minimum of 1 day, conducted virtually in two groups.
• Delivery of formative and summative assessments, including a written assessment at course end.
• All costs, including delivery, taxes, levies, and related expenses, must be included in the quotation.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the service provider include:

• Full accreditation and registration with any SETA or QCTO for Unit Standard 259622.
• Provision of a letter of accreditation as proof of submission for the unit standard.
• Delivery of training via virtual sessions, with participants split into two groups.
• Assessment methods: formative assessments during the course and a final written assessment.
• Submission of a valid quotation on letterhead, reflecting item descriptions, validity, banking details, and CSD MAAA number.
• Compliance with all applicable procurement policies and conditions, including VAT and tax compliance.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required from the service provider include:

• Accredited training providers with valid registration and accreditation for the relevant unit standard.
• Experience in delivering occupational health and safety training, preferably in a virtual environment.
• Ability to conduct assessments and issue certificates of completion.
• Capability to provide formative and summative assessments aligned with the unit standard.
• Proficiency in managing online training platforms and virtual session facilitation.
• Compliance with all legal and administrative requirements, including submission of relevant documents such as B-BBEE certificates, medical certificates (if applicable), and tax compliance status.
