Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure office accommodation for the Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs at Standerton in Gert Sibande District for a period of five years, specifically for veterinary services. The aim is to provide suitable, compliant, and accessible office space that meets departmental requirements and standards.

Scope

The scope encompasses the provision of lettable office space located in Standerton, with a total area of approximately 484.84 m² (including common areas). The accommodation must include various designated rooms such as offices, boardrooms, storage, server room, kitchen, toilets, reception, postmortem, consultation, and secure strong room, along with parking and security facilities. The lease period is five years, with specific requirements for building features, infrastructure, and maintenance.

Technical Requirements

• The building must be stand-alone, compliant with OHS Act, and equipped with necessary safety features such as fire extinguishers, burglar-proof windows and doors, and security facilities.
• Electrical infrastructure must include standby generators (size based on building area), electrical compliance certificates, and occupational certificates.
• IT infrastructure must include network points, Cat 6e cabling, POE switches, server room with air conditioning, fire suppression, and security facilities.
• The building should have lift access if more than one floor, and facilities for security personnel including guard house and toilets.
• Interior fittings include ceramic tiles, blinds, double power skirting, security locks, burglar-proof windows, steel strong room door, drainage for postmortem room, and built-in cabinets in consultation rooms.
• Maintenance responsibilities include internal and external upkeep, gardening, lifts, fire equipment, generator, and building insurance.
• Building must have adequate parking, accessible via public transport, and compliant with OHS and accessibility standards (ramps, lifts, etc.).
