Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to conduct open, inspect, and issue inspection reports, as well as refurbish or replace various types of valves—including non-return, globe, ball, amot, butterfly, wedge, gate, parallel slide, and diaphragm valves—located within the boiler and turbine auxiliary systems at Kriel Power Station. The work is to be carried out over a period of five years, ensuring the continued operational integrity and safety of the plant's valve systems.

Scope

The scope of work encompasses:

• Inspection of specified valves and associated components.
• Issuance of detailed inspection reports based on findings.
• Refurbishment or replacement of valves as necessary to meet operational standards.
• Work to be performed on various valve types including non-return, globe, ball, amot, butterfly, wedge, gate, parallel slide, and diaphragm valves.
• Activities to be conducted within the boiler and turbine auxiliary systems at Kriel Power Station.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Adherence to specified inspection and testing methods such as visual inspection, microscopy, non-destructive testing (NDT), liquid/dye penetrant testing, magnetic particle testing, EDDY current testing, etc.
• Compliance with acceptance criteria related to functionality, performance measures, regulatory standards, and chemical testing where applicable.
• Implementation of quality control plans with documented approval processes.
• Engagement of approved inspection authorities (AIA) and third-party inspectors (TPI) for surveillance, verification, and document review activities.
• Use of controlled inspection points, hold points, witness points, and document review points as per project specifications.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required for personnel involved in this tender include:

• Proficiency in various inspection and testing techniques such as visual inspection, NDT, microscopy, and chemical testing.
• Experience in valve refurbishment, repair, and replacement within power station environments.
• Knowledge of quality control procedures and approval processes.
