Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to outsource a service provider responsible for the installation of internet and Wi-Fi services at the South African National War College, Saint George Hotel, for a period of twenty-four (24) months.

Scope

The scope includes the provision, installation, configuration, and maintenance of internet and Wi-Fi infrastructure at the specified location. It encompasses the supply of necessary equipment, cabling, mounting, and ongoing support to ensure reliable internet connectivity and Wi-Fi coverage as per the detailed specifications provided in the tender documents.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of high-speed internet and Wi-Fi access points compliant with current standards (e.g., dual-band Wi-Fi 7, 802.11ax/ax, etc.).
• Supply of network hardware including routers, access points, switches, and cabling (e.g., Cat6A, trunking, conduit, etc.).
• Installation of network equipment with appropriate mounting and cabling infrastructure.
• Configuration of network devices for optimal coverage and performance.
• Provision of ongoing support, maintenance, and remote monitoring for the duration of the contract.
• Compliance with specified technical standards and specifications outlined in the tender documentation.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in installing and managing enterprise-level internet and Wi-Fi networks.
• Technical expertise in configuring Wi-Fi access points, routers, switches, and related network hardware.
• Knowledge of current wireless standards (e.g., Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 7) and network security protocols.
• Ability to undertake site surveys, cabling, and physical installation of network infrastructure.
• Capability to provide technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance services.
• Familiarity with compliance standards and specifications relevant to government and military installations.
