Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to engage a service provider to replace batteries in three UPS units at PetroSA's Mossel Bay and Parow sites. The replacement aims to ensure continuous power supply to PetroSA’s data centres and operational equipment during outages, particularly in the context of ongoing load-shedding challenges. The work is critical to maintaining server stability and service continuity by ensuring the UPS systems are functioning reliably.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Replacement of batteries in three UPS units located at different sites.
• Provision of batteries that may be of better performance than specified, if proposed by tenderers.
• Transportation of new batteries to the respective sites.
• Removal and environmentally responsible disposal of obsolete batteries.
• Installation of the new batteries.
• Restoration of the UPS systems to their normal operational state after installation.

The work involves handling specific battery specifications for each UPS unit, ensuring proper installation, and compliance with technical requirements.

• Quantity: 50 batteries

Additional technical requirements include providing proof of being a Service Partner and/or Value-Added Reseller of the batteries, including guarantees if applicable.

Skills Requirements

Tenderers must demonstrate:

• Experience and capability in handling UPS battery replacements and installations.
• Provision of proof of partnership or reseller status for the specified batteries.
• Ability to manage transportation, removal, disposal, and installation processes efficiently and safely.
• Compliance with environmental and safety standards during disposal of obsolete batteries.
• Completion and submission of the full Commercial Bid Analysis (CBA) on the ISS platform.
