Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is the procurement of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) for the Eastern Region to ensure safety and compliance with health standards within the Border Management Authority.

Scope

The scope includes the supply and delivery of various PPE items and related safety equipment as detailed in the specifications, including hand sanitizers, torchlights, helmets, first aid kits, protective suits, gloves, boots, life jackets, and other safety gear. The procurement covers all costs associated with the delivery to the designated locations within the Eastern Region, including insurance and skills development levies.

Technical Requirements

• Supply of PPE items conforming to specified standards and specifications outlined in the bid documents.
• Provision of all necessary documentation, including delivery notes, certificates, and compliance certificates.
• Items must be new, unused, and incorporate recent design and material improvements.
• Warranty period of at least 12 months for goods, with provisions for repair or replacement of defective items.
• Items must be properly packed to prevent damage during transit and comply with special packaging and marking requirements.
• Insurance coverage for goods during transportation and storage.
• Delivery within the lead time specified in the bid response.

Skills and Supplier Requirements

• Compliance with tax obligations and submission of valid tax clearance certificates or TCS certificates.
• Provision of a BBBEE certificate or sworn affidavit to claim preference points.
• Ability to supply the specified PPE items in the quantities and specifications listed in the pricing schedule.
• Demonstrated capacity to deliver goods on time and meet quality standards.
• Experience in supplying PPEs and safety equipment to government or similar institutions.
• Legal and financial standing to enter into a binding contract, including signing a formal contract (SBD7).
• Availability of skilled personnel to handle logistics, compliance, and technical requirements.
