Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to engage a service provider to facilitate the auctioning of municipal assets that are deemed redundant and no longer meet the municipality's service delivery requirements. The service provider is expected to assist in planning, organizing, and executing the auction process to ensure assets are disposed of efficiently, at appropriate values, and in accordance with relevant legislation.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Developing a comprehensive auction plan and schedule.
• Determining a suitable date for asset viewing and auction.
• Assessing and establishing the current market value of assets to prevent municipal loss.
• Locating and securing a venue for the auction.
• Coordinating the auction process, including asset viewing, bidding, and sale completion.
• Managing the transfer of proceeds to the municipality’s bank account.
• Handling the logistics of asset movement before and after the auction.
• Ensuring compliance with safety legislation and municipal requirements throughout the process.

The assets to be auctioned include various land parcels (e.g., Erf 88, Erf 35, Erf 416) with specified sizes, zoning, and available services, located within Nongoma Municipality.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of a detailed auction plan, including asset valuation and pricing strategies.
• Arranging a viewing day for prospective buyers.
• Securing a suitable auction venue and setting up the event.
• Ensuring all assets are properly prepared and documented for sale.
• Facilitating the auction event, including registration, bidding, and sale recording.
• Handling the transfer of assets and proceeds securely and transparently.
• Adhering to all applicable safety and legislative standards.
• Providing a methodology that aligns with the municipality’s terms of reference and legal requirements.

Skills Requirements
