Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure catering services for an event scheduled on 21 July 2026 at Nqadu Great Place, Willovale, Mbashe Local Municipality, Eastern Cape Province. The aim is to ensure the provision of quality catering that meets the specified standards and requirements of the Department of Forestry, Fisheries & Environment.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes the supply and delivery of catering services for the specified event. This encompasses providing various food and beverage items such as mid-morning tea and coffee, assorted canned juices, warm lunch with condiments, soft drinks, bottled water, and rental of tables with covers. The services must adhere to environmental, safety, and hygiene standards, including waste management and staff uniform requirements.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of catering for 50 persons for tea and coffee, 50 persons for assorted juices, 200 persons for warm lunch, 200 persons for soft drinks, and 200 persons for bottled water.
• Use of dedicated waste bins and removal of waste post-service.
• Availability of food handling tools such as tongs or braai-tongs for patrons.
• Transport vehicles must have a canopy for meal delivery.
• Staff must wear appropriate uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including disposable gloves, hair nets, closed shoes, and aprons.
• All prices quoted must be inclusive of VAT and other applicable taxes.
• Delivery must be completed only after receipt of an official purchase order or formal appointment letter.
• Compliance with packaging, environmental legislation, and hygiene standards.

Skills Requirements

• Staff capable of safe and hygienic food preparation, transport, and serving according to industry standards.
• Personnel trained in waste management and environmental compliance.
• Personnel equipped with appropriate uniforms and PPE to ensure safety and hygiene.
• Ability to manage timely delivery and setup of catering services at the specified venue.
