Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure comprehensive cleaning, hygiene cleaning, car wash, and pest control services at SABC Kimberly & Platfontein offices for a period of five (5) years. The aim is to ensure the buildings are maintained in a safe, healthy, and conducive working environment in compliance with relevant legislations and standards, including OHS Act and SABS ISO standards.

Scope

The scope of services includes:

• Cleaning of various areas within the Kimberly & Platfontein buildings such as paved areas, entrances, reception, boardrooms, conference rooms, studios, public areas, lift foyers, stairs, passages, kitchens, seating areas, news editing rooms, and radio broadcast resources.
• Daily cleaning activities, primarily after normal working hours.
• Cleaning of balconies and outdoor areas, including prevention of droppings accumulation.
• Washing and cleaning of fleet vehicles at the wash bay.
• Specialized cleaning tasks such as inaccessible window cleaning using fall arrest systems, with staff deployed in full uniform and PPE.
• Provision of all necessary equipment, chemicals (SABS approved), uniforms, and safety gear.
• Pest control services including structural pest control, fumigation, and baiting.
• Car wash services for staff and visitor vehicles.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of all equipment, chemicals, uniforms, and PPE compliant with SABS standards.
• Deployment of trained and experienced personnel, including supervisors, with CVs demonstrating relevant experience.
• Adherence to health and safety regulations, including the use of fall arrest systems for inaccessible window cleaning.
• Implementation of pest control measures as per Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries standards.
• Use of environmentally friendly and approved cleaning chemicals.
• Regular maintenance and calibration of cleaning equipment.
• Compliance with occupational health and safety standards and standards accreditation.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required for bidders include:

• Operational experience of at least 5 years in cleaning and pest control services, with documented references.
• Demonstrated experience in managing cleaning operations within corporate or public sector environments.
• Qualified personnel with CVs indicating at least 10 years’ experience in cleaning and hygiene management.
• Managerial expertise in overseeing cleaning teams, ensuring compliance with safety standards and quality control.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations and standards.
• Proven ability to supply and manage all necessary equipment, chemicals, and PPE.
• Capacity to deliver specialized services such as window cleaning at heights and pest control.
