Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure sixteen (16) finance resources to support the operations at Durban Container Terminal (Pier 1) for a period of 36 months. The resources are intended to enhance financial management, control, reporting, and operational efficiency within Transnet Port Terminals (TPT).

Scope

The scope encompasses the provision of various finance professionals across multiple functions including:

• Financial management and reporting
• Cost analysis and budget management
• Revenue management and invoicing
• Asset management and fixed asset accounting
• Accounts payable and receivable
• Requisitioning and procurement support
• Financial control and compliance
• Support for expansion projects and operational cost control

The resources will be engaged on an as-and-when-required basis, supporting the day-to-day financial operations and strategic initiatives at Durban Container Terminal Pier 1.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of qualified finance professionals with relevant experience and qualifications as specified per role.
• Adherence to South African financial legislation, including tax compliance and IFRS standards.
• Implementation of financial controls, reporting standards, and audit requirements.
• Provision of detailed CVs, proof of registration (e.g., B-BBEE certificates), and compliance documentation.
• Resource capability to perform tasks such as cost analysis, budget preparation, asset management, invoicing, and revenue protection.
• Availability of resources within 15 working days of contract award.
• Provision of support for internal and external audits, and compliance with security and confidentiality protocols.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidders must demonstrate the following skills and competencies:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance, accounting, or related fields (e.g., BTech, Degree, Diploma).
• Minimum years of experience in relevant roles such as Revenue Manager, Financial Accountant, Management Accountant, Fixed Asset Accountant, Accounts Payable/Receivable Controllers, and Requisitioners.
• Proven ability to interpret and implement financial policies and procedures.
• Strong analytical skills for cost and variance analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Competence in using financial systems such as SAP, Navis, and related tools for invoicing, asset management, and reconciliation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with internal teams and clients.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing operational needs.
• Knowledge of South African tax laws, IFRS standards, and compliance requirements.
• Experience in audit coordination, revenue protection, and internal control processes.
