Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the provision of Fire & Emergency Services at Kriel Power Station over a period of 5 years. The aim is to ensure effective fire and emergency response capabilities, compliance with safety standards, and adherence to Eskom’s operational requirements.

Scope

The scope includes, but is not limited to:

• Provision of fire and emergency response services at Kriel Power Station.
• Ensuring compliance with Eskom’s health, safety, environment, and quality (SHEQ) policies and standards.
• Management and supervision of contractors and suppliers involved in the work.
• Implementation of incident management procedures and safety protocols.
• Alignment with Eskom’s Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements post-contract award.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements encompass:

• Adherence to Eskom contractor health and safety standards (e.g., standards 32-136, 32-95, 32-727, 240-62196227, 240-62946386).
• Implementation of incident management procedures and SHEQ policies.
• Provision of a comprehensive Health and Safety Plan addressing project-specific risks.
• Submission of detailed OHS costing, baseline risk assessments, and relevant documentation.
• Provision of valid OHS Good Standing certificates (COIDA or equivalent).
• Demonstration of OHS competency through CVs and qualifications of key personnel.
• Monitoring and auditing of contractors’ OHS compliance during project execution.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Competency in occupational health and safety management relevant to the scope of work.
• Qualified personnel with appropriate certifications and experience in fire and emergency services.
• Ability to develop and implement OHS risk assessments and management plans.
• Capacity to monitor, audit, and enforce compliance with Eskom’s OHS policies and legal requirements.
• Effective management of contractors and suppliers to ensure adherence to safety standards.
