Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure comprehensive gardening services for three locations: Salt River, Bellville, and Saldanha. The services aim to maintain the aesthetic and functional quality of the outdoor spaces over a period of three years, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and proper maintenance through the provision of skilled personnel, appropriate equipment, and consumables.

Scope

The scope encompasses the provision of gardening services at the specified sites, including:

• Deployment of qualified gardeners with necessary uniforms and PPE
• Provision and maintenance of equipment such as lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, and other gardening tools
• Supply of chemicals and consumables like weed killers, petrol, and oil
• Implementation of safety measures including PPE, safety files, and management fees

The scope is divided into three geographical areas with specific requirements for each, covering minimum personnel, equipment, PPE, chemicals, and management services for a three-year period.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Qualified gardening staff equipped with safety shoes, company branded jackets, T-shirts, and pants
• Provision of PPE such as safety reflectors, gloves, ear plugs, aprons, dust masks, goggles, face shields, respirators, and sun hats
• Use of specified equipment including lawn mowers, brush cutters, sprayers, wheelbarrows, rakes, pruning saws, ladders, blowers, and waste bags
• Supply of chemicals and consumables like petrol, oil, cutting strings, and weed killers
• Maintenance of safety files and adherence to health and safety standards
• Management of services including a minimum management fee aligned with sectoral wages

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Experience in providing professional gardening and landscaping services
• Ability to supply qualified and trained personnel familiar with safety protocols
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining a range of gardening equipment and tools
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including PPE and safety documentation
• Capacity to manage supplies of chemicals and consumables responsibly
• Competence in maintaining safety files and complying with legal and sectoral standards
