Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a reputable service provider to deliver high-pressure wall washing services for the South African State Theatre (SAST), covering an area of 72,000 square meters. The service aims to ensure that both exterior and interior surfaces are cleaned effectively, safely, and in compliance with environmental and safety regulations, thereby maintaining the aesthetic and structural integrity of the facility.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of high-pressure wall washing services for 72,000 square meters.
• Use of appropriate chemicals and cleaning agents to remove stains such as oil, grease, algae, graffiti, and pollutants.
• Cleaning of exterior and interior surfaces without damaging the structure or surrounding environment.
• Rinsing and post-cleaning activities to prevent contamination or water ingress.
• Adherence to safety and environmental regulations, including the use of safety harnesses when working at heights.
• Equipment maintenance and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the service include:

• Use of correct PSI (pounds per square inch) and suitable cleaning agents.
• Effective removal of stains such as oil, grease, algae, and graffiti.
• Protection of sensitive landscaping (trees, shrubs) during cleaning.
• Compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
• Provision of high-pressure wall washing services covering the specified area.
• Use of equipment and chemicals that do not damage the surfaces or environment.

Skills and Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Experience in high-pressure cleaning services, preferably with similar scope and scale.
• Knowledge of environmental and safety regulations related to high-pressure cleaning and chemical use.
• Capability to operate high-pressure washing equipment safely and effectively.
• Provision of qualified personnel trained in safe working at heights and handling chemicals.
• Ability to maintain equipment and ensure ongoing compliance with safety standards.
• Provision of relevant references demonstrating successful completion of similar projects.
• Insurance coverage, including Public Liability Insurance of R1 million or above.
• Compliance with tax and registration requirements, including SARS PIN and CSD registration.
