Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure the provision of road marking services along Church Street, a proclaimed municipal road in Prince Albert. The services include marking stop signs, parking bays, pedestrian crossings, and no-parking zones to enhance road safety and traffic management.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and application of road markings on designated sections of Church Street. The contractor will be responsible for executing the marking of various road features such as stop signs, parking bays, pedestrian crossings, and no-parking zones, ensuring compliance with municipal standards and specifications. The scope also includes attending a compulsory clarification meeting and adhering to specified technical and safety requirements.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of road marking services including application of paint and signage markings.
• Compliance with the specifications outlined in the bid documents, including the use of appropriate materials and equipment.
• Registration with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) at contractor grading designation 1 SK or higher.
• Attendance at a compulsory clarification meeting scheduled for 29 September 2025.
• Adherence to safety standards, including a minimum cover of R 5 million for public liability.
• Provision of comprehensive methodology, work program, traffic control measures, and skilled personnel.
• Provision of necessary tools, equipment, and certifications related to road marking.

Skills and Skills Requirements

• Experience in providing road marking and signage services, with a company profile demonstrating relevant past projects.
• Availability of qualified personnel, including CVs, and adequate tools and equipment for road marking tasks.
• Technical skills evidenced by certifications and qualifications of staff involved.
• Ability to develop and implement a detailed methodology, including traffic management and work scheduling.
• Knowledge of safety standards and compliance with municipal and national regulations.
• Registration with the CIDB at a contractor grading designation of 1 SK or higher.
• Capacity to meet functionality scoring criteria, including experience, resources, and methodology.
