Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a catering service to provide subsidized meals at Komati Power Station for a period of 60 months. The service aims to ensure the consistent supply of quality meals to Eskom personnel, adhering to safety, health, and environmental standards, while complying with relevant legal and Eskom-specific requirements.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of subsidized catering services at Komati Power Station for 60 months.
• Ensuring compliance with Eskom’s Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies and legal requirements.
• Management and supervision of contractors and suppliers involved in the catering service.
• Adherence to Eskom’s SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) policies and procedures.
• Implementation of risk assessments, incident management, and safety protocols related to catering operations.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Submission of a signed acknowledgment of Eskom’s OHS legal and other requirements form.
• Development of an OHS plan addressing project-specific risks and aligned with Eskom’s health and safety specifications.
• Provision of a Baseline OHS Risk Assessment (BRA) including identification, assessment, and management of safety, health, and environmental risks, with methodology details.
• Valid Letter of Good Standing (COIDA or equivalent).
• Submission of an OHS policy signed by the CEO, compliant with the OHS Act.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Understanding of Eskom’s OHS requirements, policies, procedures, and standards.
• Capability to align company processes with Eskom’s OHS standards post-contract award.
• Experience in managing catering services within a high-risk operational environment.
• Ability to monitor and audit contractors and suppliers for OHS compliance.
• Competence in risk assessment, incident management, and safety compliance documentation.
• Provision of references and testimonials for similar work undertaken previously.
