Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider to carry out window cleaning services at the second floor of both municipal buildings at Thulamela Municipality Head Office. The service aims to ensure all external and internal windows are thoroughly cleaned, maintained to a professional standard, and comply with safety and quality requirements.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Cleaning all glass panes, window frames, and sills on the second floor of both municipal buildings.
• Removing dust, dirt, stains, bird droppings, cobwebs, and other foreign materials.
• Using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment for streak-free, clear windows.
• Wiping and polishing metal or aluminium frames where applicable.
• Safely removing temporary markings or adhesive residues.
• Cleaning both interior and exterior window surfaces accessible.

The service provider must supply all necessary equipment, safety gear, and environmentally friendly cleaning materials. The work must adhere to health and safety standards, with proper signage and safety measures during cleaning activities.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of all cleaning equipment, ladders, scaffolding, safety harnesses, and cleaning materials.
• Use of environmentally friendly and non-corrosive cleaning products.
• Compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act No. 85 of 1993).
• Implementation of safety protocols, PPE usage, and signage to ensure safety for workers and building occupants.
• Work to be carried out to a professional standard, leaving windows streak-free and clean.
• Responsibility for repairing any damage caused during cleaning.
• Municipality reserves the right to inspect and approve the completed work.

Skills Requirements
