Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to carry out renovations, additions, and alterations to the Emmaus Laboratory within Emmaus Hospital in KwaZulu Natal. The project aims to upgrade the existing NHLS laboratory facilities to meet current standards and requirements, ensuring improved functionality, safety, and compliance with relevant regulations.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Design and construction of additions and alterations to the existing laboratory facilities.
• Installation of controlled access points, fire escape doors, ramps, and associated infrastructure.
• Renovation of specific areas such as the manager’s office, reception, general lab, and passageways.
• Preparation of detailed floor plans, sections, and client drawings as per project requirements.
• Coordination with municipal authorities for preliminary municipal tender construction.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of controlled access systems for secure entry.
• Installation of fire escape doors and ramps compliant with safety standards.
• Preparation of detailed architectural and engineering drawings at a scale of 1:100.
• Design of wall plate levels, window/door levels, and other structural details as indicated in the drawings.
• Ensuring all renovations adhere to municipal and health facility standards.
• Inclusion of sections and detailed plans to illustrate the scope of alterations.

Skills Requirements

The tender requires skills in:

• Architectural design and drafting, with proficiency in creating detailed plans and sections.
• Construction management and site supervision to ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Knowledge of health facility standards and safety regulations.
