Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure the rental and servicing of two 3m³ skips in residential CAM areas for a period of 12 months. The aim is to facilitate waste collection and management in specified residential zones, ensuring cleanliness and compliance with municipal waste regulations.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Provision of two 3m³ skips in designated residential CAM areas, specifically in Struisbaai North, Bredasdorp, Ward 3, Zwelitsha, and Napier informal areas.
• Regular collection, cleaning (within a 5m radius), transportation, and emptying of the skips at designated waste facilities.
• Placement of skips in open spaces as directed by the Waste Management Office, with covers for transportation and cleaning before repositioning.
• Record-keeping of all skip removals and empties, with records maintained by both the contractor and municipal officials.
• Adherence to transport regulations and safety standards during service delivery.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the service include:

• Provision of small 3m³ skips in specified areas with placement in open spaces.
• Skips must be covered during transportation to the waste facility.
• Skips must be cleaned before being returned to their original positions.
• All waste collection and transportation activities must comply with relevant transport and safety regulations.
• Record keeping of all activities related to skip collection, cleaning, and emptying.
• Unit rates will be awarded for all 2m³ skips emptied at waste facilities, with the possibility of varying skip numbers based on operational needs.

Skills and Qualifications Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Successful completion of at least 5 similar projects involving skip rental and waste collection within the last 5 years, supported by references and project details.
• Experience in managing waste collection services, including logistics, safety, and record-keeping.
• Compliance with all relevant municipal, provincial, and national regulations regarding waste management and transportation.
• Ability to provide qualified personnel capable of executing the scope of work efficiently.
• Provision of necessary documentation such as company registration, tax compliance, B-BBEE status, and municipal accounts to demonstrate capacity and compliance.
