Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to establish a rate-based contract for the repairs, servicing, and calibration of manufacturer-specific renal equipment at Frere Hospital. The contract aims to ensure the equipment remains operational, safe, and compliant with OEM standards over a period of twenty-four months, with the flexibility to service equipment as needed.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of repair, servicing, and calibration of Braun Medical renal equipment, including dialysis machines, docking stations, infusion pumps, oscillating saws, syringe pumps, and related devices.
• Collection and delivery of equipment from Frere Hospital at the vendor’s own cost.
• Compliance with hospital asset control documentation during equipment collection and return.
• Guarantee of a minimum of three months post-repair, excluding user malicious damage.
• Ensuring equipment safety standards are met and documented for each repair.
• Turnaround time for repairs not exceeding two weeks from collection.
• Provision of detailed rates and payment schedules.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Registration as a manufacturer or accredited vendor on the manufacturer’s letterhead, supporting official certification in South Africa for Braun Medical.
• Ability to collect and deliver equipment, ensuring safe return during and after repairs, with appropriate insurance coverage.
• Adherence to hospital PFMA asset control procedures (e.g., Goods Return Notes).
• Provision of a minimum three-month guarantee on repairs, excluding malicious user damage.
• Compliance with OEM safety standards, with documentation attached to each job card.
• Completion of the attached rates annexure and submission of invoices with job cards and work order references.
• Registration on the provincial treasury supplier database and supply of supplier number.

Skills Requirements

• Technical expertise in servicing and calibrating Braun Medical renal equipment.
• Experience in handling hospital asset control procedures and documentation.
• Ability to perform repairs within specified turnaround times.
• Competence in ensuring equipment safety standards and compliance with OEM standards.
• Capacity to provide insurance coverage for equipment during transit and repair.
• Proficiency in completing detailed rates schedules and invoicing processes.
• Knowledge of procurement and compliance procedures, including tax and supplier registration requirements.
