Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit qualified service providers to carry out repairs of the Cala Indoor Sports Centre, ensuring the facility is restored to a good standard of workmanship and safety, in accordance with specified technical requirements and standards.

Scope

The scope encompasses comprehensive repair works at the Cala Indoor Sports Centre, including:

• Removal of existing doors, windows, and sanitary fittings
• Repairs to building structures, including alterations and replacements
• Maintenance of water supply and plumbing fixtures
• Carpentry and joinery works including doors, ceilings, and finishes
• Installation and repair of ironmongery and metalwork
• Plumbing and drainage system repairs
• Electrical works including lighting, small power, and wiring
• Glazing, painting, and finishing works
• Site works including clearing surplus materials and debris

The scope also includes compliance with all relevant standards, quality assurance, and safety protocols.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that all materials used shall be of good standard and SANS approved. The repair works must adhere to the detailed specifications, including:

• Replacement of sanitary fittings with vitreous china WC suites, taps, and cisterns
• Installation of uPVC pressure pipes and associated fittings
• Use of approved electrical wiring systems and fixtures, including LED lighting and sodium lamps
• Use of durable, high-quality doors, windows, and metalwork, including aluminium glazed doors
• Application of appropriate paintwork, plastering, and finishing as per standards
• Compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards throughout the project

All inspections, tests, and analyses shall be conducted as per contractual and regulatory requirements, with provisions for rejection of non-compliant supplies.

Skills and Skills Requirements

The tender requires service providers to demonstrate:

• Relevant CIDB grading of GB or higher
• Experience in building repairs, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and finishing works
• Ability to supply and install materials that meet SANS standards
• Competence in project management, quality assurance, and safety compliance
• Provision of qualified personnel, including skilled artisans, technicians, and supervisors
• Capability to coordinate various trades and ensure timely completion within the contract period
• Provision of proof of past similar projects, references, and relevant certifications

Additionally, bidders must possess the necessary business licenses, tax clearance certificates, and B-BBEE verification certificates to qualify for evaluation and preference points.
