Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to facilitate the replacement and upgrading of water infrastructure within Bela Bela Town. Specifically, the project aims to:

• Replace existing AC water pipes in Belabela Town, including Gilfillan, Botha, Van Der Merwe, Pretoria, Voortrekker, Sutter, Marx, Crockery, and Potgieter Streets (Ward 1) – Phase 1.
• Upgrade the Pienaarsriver sewer pump station in Ward 8.
• Repair pavement on Moloto Street (Ward 2).
• Rehabilitate water supply sources, including augmentation using Sassa boreholes and construction of water treatment packages in Ward 1.
• Provide short-term insurance and risk solutions services for a period of 36 months.

Scope

The scope encompasses multiple projects including:

• Replacement of AC water pipes in specific streets within Ward 1.
• Upgrading of sewer pump stations in Pienaarsriver (Ward 8).
• Repair of pavement on Moloto Street (Ward 2).
• Rehabilitation of water supply sources, including boreholes and water treatment packages.
• Provision of electrical equipment and associated electrical services through a panel of five service providers.
• Provision of short-term insurance and risk management solutions.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Adherence to specifications for replacing AC water pipes, upgrading sewer pump stations, and pavement repair.
• Compliance with standards for water augmentation using boreholes and construction of water treatment packages.
• Supply and delivery of transformers, switchgear, tools, and electrical equipment as per project needs, for a duration of 36 months.
• Provision of short-term insurance and risk solutions tailored to municipal needs.
• All work must meet the relevant municipal, safety, and environmental standards.

Skills Requirements

The tender emphasizes the need for:

• Qualified and experienced contractors capable of executing water infrastructure projects, including pipe replacement, sewer upgrades, and pavement repairs.
