Objectives

The primary objective is to safely replace the existing retaining wall at the Pearly Beach Drop-off site. This project aims to restore structural integrity, prevent soil erosion or potential collapse, and ensure long-term public safety and accessibility at the municipal facility.

Scope

The project covers the full lifecycle of retaining wall replacement, including demolition and removal of the existing structure, site clearance, excavation, foundation preparation, supply and installation of new wall components, backfilling, drainage integration, and final site rehabilitation. All works must comply with municipal engineering standards and environmental guidelines.

Technical Requirements

• Minimum contractor registration: CIDB grading of 3CE or higher.
• Compliance with Overstrand Municipality’s civil construction specifications and quality control procedures.
• Submission of sealed physical bids in the designated municipal tender box by the official closing date and time.
• Evaluation conducted using the municipality’s 80/20 preferential procurement framework.
• Mandatory attendance at a pre-bid information session to clarify technical expectations, compliance criteria, and contractual obligations.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in civil engineering works, specifically earthworks and retaining structure construction.
