Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to invite qualified applicants to submit proposals for leasing various land and building premises located at the Port of Port Elizabeth. The aim is to secure suitable tenants for these properties to support the operational needs of Transnet National Ports Authority, including commercial, storage, office, warehouse, cold storage, and related uses, for periods of up to five (5) years, with some options extending to 10 or 15 years.

Scope

The scope of the tender encompasses the leasing of multiple properties, including:

• Land parcels ranging from 211 m² to 604 m²
• Buildings ranging from 46 m² to 1,854 m²
• Combined land and building packages

Properties are designated for various uses such as offices, storage, warehouses, cold storage, restaurants, parking, and ice plants. The properties are available immediately or from specified future dates, with lease tenures varying from 3 to 15 years depending on the property.

Technical Requirements

Applicants must:

• Download and review the RFP documents and annexures from the specified portals.
• Attend the non-compulsory briefing session via Microsoft Teams scheduled for 20 March 2026.
• Submit their proposals electronically through the Transnet e-Tender Submission Portal before the deadline.
• Ensure compliance with all specified property use and tenure conditions.
• Provide proof of BBBEE accreditation from recognized agencies, or sworn affidavits for EME and QSE entities.

• Knowledge of property leasing procedures and requirements.
• Understanding of the operational needs related to land and building use within a port environment.
• Ability to prepare comprehensive proposals aligned with the tender specifications.
