Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a suitably qualified service provider to offer NQF Level 4 training for the National Certificate in Ecotourism. The training aims to equip 25 previously disadvantaged individuals and communities involved in the biodiversity economy sector of South Africa with the necessary skills and certification to enhance their participation and contribution to the sector.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of a comprehensive training programme covering the curriculum and strategy alignment for the National Certificate: Ecotourism (NQF Level 4).
• Development and delivery of learning materials, including facilitator guides, assessor guides, assessment and moderation plans, and curriculum documents.
• Presentation of the training over ten (10) days in Bela Bela, Limpopo, from 20 March 2026 to 29 March 2026.
• Collection and submission of participants' personal details, including copies of matric certificates and IDs.
• Ensuring participants complete attendance registers and practical assessments.
• Facilitating certification through relevant SETA accreditation, including issuing certificates of attendance and competency certificates.
• Post-training activities such as submission of portfolios of evidence and reporting on training outcomes.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of training materials aligned with the unit standards and curriculum.
• Delivery of training in a manner that ensures participants receive SETA-accredited certificates upon successful completion.
• Collection of participant personal details and attendance records.
• Conducting practical assessments and ensuring participants meet competency standards.
• Submission of a detailed report on the training, including participant numbers, dropouts, completions, and competencies achieved.
• Accreditation with the relevant quality assurance body for NQF Level 4 Ecotourism certification, with proof of accreditation submitted with the quotation.

Skills Requirements

The service provider must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in delivering NQF Level 4 Ecotourism training or similar vocational training programs.
• Capability to develop and provide comprehensive training materials, including facilitator and assessor guides.
• Ability to facilitate practical assessments and ensure participants meet competency standards.
• Experience in managing training logistics, including venue setup, participant registration, and certification processes.
• Accreditation with the relevant SETA or quality assurance body for Ecotourism training.
• Capacity to report on training outcomes and submit required documentation in accordance with SETA and Departmental standards.
