Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the repair, maintenance, and strengthening of stormwater drainage systems and associated infrastructure at Bram Fischer International Airport. The contractor is expected to repair drainage defects, seal joints, extend stone pitching, replace damaged panels, and strengthen retaining walls, ensuring the stormwater systems are functional, safe, and compliant with specifications.

Scope

The scope of work includes, but is not limited to:

• Repairing defects on drainage structures, including plastering and sealing joints on trapezoidal stormwater channels.
• Extending stone pitching to connect with concrete channels at Zone 11, Airside.
• Replacing damaged concrete panels on stormwater drains.
• Strengthening and aligning retaining walls, particularly for the Busamed hospital fence, using G7 compacted material.
• Ensuring all work covers specified areas such as the Airside, Contractors Camp, Fuel Farm, General Aviation, Busamed Hospital, Car Depos, Solar Plant, and all Landside stormwater channels.
• Adhering to health, safety, environmental, and site regulations, including working under escort in airside areas.

Technical Requirements

The contractor must:

• Ensure smooth finishing of concrete works and seal all joints with appropriate sealants.
• Use concrete with a strength of 20-25 MPa.
• Possess valid permits for airside access and work under escort where necessary.
• Attend and participate in maintenance, operations, and contract management meetings.
• Prepare a detailed 3-month work execution plan using MS Projects and a supporting document.
• Provide timely assessments and invoices, with payments processed on the last day of each month.
• Comply with all health, safety, environmental, and site-specific regulations.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in stormwater drainage repair and maintenance.
• Competence in concrete works, including sealing joints and finishing surfaces.
• Ability to work in airside environments, including obtaining necessary permits and working under escort.
• Capability to prepare and implement detailed work plans and schedules.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards applicable to airport maintenance projects.
• Effective communication skills for meetings and reporting.
• Compliance with CIDB grading criteria as specified.
