Objectives

The primary objectives of this tender are to appoint a qualified service provider to deliver training and incident investigation services related to occupational health and safety, including:

• OHSACT (Occupational Health and Safety Act) compliance training
• She Rep (Safety Representative) training
• Workplace incident investigation training
• First Aid Level 1 training
• Fire Fighter Level 1 training

The services are to be provided over a period of 12 months, on an as-and-when-required basis, to ensure ongoing compliance and safety management for PRASA KZN.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of accredited training courses for employees and safety representatives
• Conducting incident investigation training for workplace safety, health, and environmental incidents
• Delivering First Aid Level 1 and Fire Fighter Level 1 training
• Providing training facilitators and assessors with appropriate certification
• Ensuring training is delivered at designated venues with proper accreditation
• Providing certificates of completion for all training modules
• Supporting ongoing compliance with occupational health and safety legislation

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the tender include:

• Proof of accreditation with the relevant SETA for all training modules
• Certification of trainers and assessors as facilitators and assessors
• Provision of training venues, materials, and assessment tools
• Delivery of theoretical and practical components as specified:
• OHSACT Training: 12 hours theoretical, 28 hours practical
• She Rep Training: duration as specified, with accredited facilitators
• Incident Investigation: 9 hours theoretical, 21 hours practical
• First Aid and Fire Fighter Level 1: content aligned with unit standards, including practical assessments
• Provision of certificates upon successful completion
• Adherence to health and safety standards during training delivery

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required from the service provider include:

• Accredited trainers and assessors with certification from recognized SETA bodies
• Experience in delivering occupational health and safety training, incident investigation, and emergency response training
• Proven ability to facilitate both theoretical and practical training components
• Capacity to provide suitable training venues and materials
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance standards
• Ability to produce and issue certified certificates of completion
• Strong organizational and communication skills to coordinate training schedules and reporting
