Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider to undertake the maintenance and supply of fire equipment and systems across various sections of iSimangaliso Wetland Park. The aim is to ensure all fire safety assets are maintained in accordance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and manufacturer specifications, thereby supporting safety, regulatory compliance, and asset preservation within the park.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of comprehensive maintenance, inspection, testing, repair, and replacement services for fire equipment and systems.
• Supply of fire safety equipment as required.
• Ensuring all fire safety installations, cylinders, storage facilities, piping, regulators, valves, appliances, and related equipment are maintained in compliance with applicable standards and legislation.
• Access to Bill of Quantities for detailed requirements.
• Adherence to statutory and safety regulations, including SANS 10400 (Part T) and other relevant standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Maintenance and inspection of gas equipment and systems at all tourism facilities managed by iSimangaliso.
• Compliance with safety standards, manufacturer specifications, and industry best practices for certification.
• Provision of a detailed work plan indicating approach, activities, durations, and sequence of work, preferably in GANTT chart or activity schedule format.
• Resource qualifications including site supervisor, mechanical fitters/millwrights, and fire safety artisans with relevant trade tests, experience, and certifications.
• Implementation of quality assurance measures and safety protocols, including health and safety training and environmental considerations.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Qualified personnel with NQF Level 3 or 4 in Mechanical Fitter/Millwright and fire safety artisan with valid SAQCC registration.
• At least 20 years of experience in maintenance of fire prevention and protection systems.
• Health and Safety Officer certification and relevant CVs.
• Proven experience with similar projects, supported by letters of award and completion certificates.
• Capability to develop and execute detailed work plans and method statements in compliance with regulations.
• Ability to provide references demonstrating successful past performance in fire equipment maintenance and supply.
