Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure comprehensive employee wellness services for Trade and Investment KwaZulu-Natal (TIKZN) staff over a period of three years. The services aim to promote employee health, work-life balance, safety, and overall well-being, thereby attracting and retaining quality employees, reducing turnover, improving productivity, lowering healthcare costs, decreasing absenteeism, and boosting employee morale.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of a full spectrum of Employee Wellness Programmes (EWP), including physical, financial, socio-economic, physio-social wellness, individual/group counselling, injury/disease management, medical assessments, and occupational health services.
• Delivery of services via online platforms and on-site facilities, including coordination and facilitation of sessions and speakers.
• Employee medical surveillance, with assessment turnaround times of five working days.
• Management of injury on duty (IOD) and disease cases, including assessments.
• Provision of occupational health medical doctor services for health examinations.
• 24/7 professional support via a call centre for employees and their immediate families.
• Conduct ergonomic assessments and develop implementation roadmaps.
• Management of behavioral issues such as substance abuse and absenteeism.
• Coordination of annual on-site wellness events.
• Distribution of health, safety, and wellness information brochures monthly.
• Analysis of service usage and reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

Technical Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate compliance with the following:

• Accreditation with relevant professional bodies (e.g., HPCSA, SACSSP).
• Availability of a centrally located health and wellness centre in Durban, compliant with health and safety regulations.
• Provision of proof of address, health and safety compliance certificates, and relevant accreditation documentation.
• Capability to deliver services both online and physically, with appropriate coordination and facilitation.
• Experience in employee wellness, medical surveillance, occupational health, and related services.
• Ability to provide a 24/7 call centre support service.
• Ability to conduct ergonomic assessments and manage behavioral health issues effectively.
• Provision of detailed work plans, including activities, costs, timeframes, and resource allocation.

Skills Requirements

Applicants must possess:

• Qualified and registered professionals, including Occupational Health Medical Doctors, counsellors, and support staff, with relevant certifications (e.g., HPCSA, SACSSP).
• Proven track record in delivering employee wellness and occupational health services, supported by references and past project examples.
• Experienced project management team with demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple activities and deliverables.
• Capability to develop and implement comprehensive wellness programmes, including planning, execution, and reporting.
• Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement, session facilitation, and reporting.
• Technical expertise in ergonomic assessments, health and safety compliance, and behavioral health management.
